Wrong Place, Right Time (The Bourbon Street Boys), by Elle Casey

Jenny’s single-parent life revolves around her kids and her job, which means that hours of Animal Planet and strings of computer code are about all she has time for. Not that Jenny’s looking for adventure or romance—she’s the type of woman who believes in playing it safe.

When Jenny is called upon to do some consulting for the Bourbon Street Boys—a New Orleans private security firm—she knows she should stay away. They conduct surveillance on known criminals and put themselves in harm’s way pretty much every day, so No is the obvious answer…Problem is, there’s a guy on the team with a body to die for and a dimple that just won’t quit luring Jenny in, tempting her to throw all caution to the wind.

Will Jenny take the risk or will she do what she’s always done—play it safe and wait for the right time?

Disappointed
By JLW
This is the 4th book I have read by the author (the others being the 1st of this series and the two in the Shine not Burn series). I loved the humor and the unique, interesting heroines in those other 3 books. This one was nothing like them. The humor was almost non-existent and the heroine was filled with anxiety about everything and with the exception of computer skills, didn't strike me as special. The few shining moments of this book were the scenes when her son interacted with Dev's son (priceless). I get it that raising 3 kids on your own is emotionally, physically, and financially draining and can undermine your confidence in the dating department, but I don't want to read a running inner monologue on it throughout the book.

Dev is yummy to my tummy!!
By Addicted2booksblog
I was late to the Bourbon Street party. I didn't read May/Ozzie's book so this is my honest review based on Jenny/Dev's book alone.
Jenny is a single mom with three kids and a deadbeat ex. On top of that, she works 60 hours a week at a job she doesn't like all that much. She doesn't understand what her little sis is doing. She prefers her sis be a wedding photographer. Now she's all comando.
She doesn't understand what her little sis is doing. She prefers her sis be a wedding photographer. Now she's all commando. She thinks May is being reckless getting involved with the Bourbon Street Boys. I also sensed a tinge of jealousy because May belonged to a team now. Jenny's job was very solitary.
Speaking of her sis, she needs Jenny's computer expertise. Jenny's kids are with their dad and all she wants is a bath, a chick flick, and a bottle of wine. But can't say no to May. Her first visit to the Bourbon Street office wasn't smooth. She got locked in a panic room with this hot, bald 7ft tall man. Okay, so she was attracted to him. That part didn't suck, right?
Dev and Jenny's relationship started slowly. Like snails pace. Once they gave in and got all hot and heavy, it was on like donkey kong. They bonded. They're both single parents. Dev's son had special needs but he never let it stop him and Jenny's kids loved him. Especially her son.
Jenny's insecurities really got on my damn nerves. Every 2nd paragraph she was complaining about her weight or the way she reacted to a situation. She was very insecure about her parenting skills. Like any single parent wouldn't take their three-year-old to McDonalds as a reward. Hello, bribes are common with kids! They're called rewards..haha! Jenny's constant insecurities just got annoying as hell.
Dev was this hot, tall, mysterious, quiet man. He wanted to get to know Jenny, but she's fighting tooth and nail. Every inch of him was yummy to my tummy!
This was a hard book to read. I don't know why exactly but I think I lost interest when Jenny because she was constantly whining about her parenting or the way she looked. She never underestimated her computer skills. I tried to hang in. Did I enjoy the story? Yes. Was it riveting can't put it down? Not really.
Was May's book more interesting? It might be worth the money to read. Maybe her story ties into Jenny's story somehow?

give me moree!!
By Sarah Horwth
Jenny is a busy, single mom of three. Her ex-husband barely pulls his weight and she feels like all the responsibility of raising their children has landed at her feet. She may be overwhelmed but Jenny has no other option but to keep plugging away at life. Jenny finally has a couple of days to herself and all she wants to do is take a bath, drink some wine and sleep. So when Jenny gets a call from her sister May (we met her in the first book), even though she is weary of May and her new job. Jenny jumps at the chance to earn some extra cash. Immediately upon her arrival Jenny gets wrapped up in the Bourbon Street World and the man know as Dev. The more time she spends with Dev and the Bourbon Street boys they change her perception of who she thought they were.

I really loved and enjoyed this book. This is really a great series that hooks me in right from the start. I don't think I've ever loved two characters more than I loved Dev and Jenny. There both single parents basically doing in all on there own. I also loved how Elle Casey kind of hid a lot of Dev from us in the description and was also secretive about him in the book as well. To me Dev is a whole different kind of male character is this story to me. I don't think I've met another male character that was like him and that just made me like him even more and apprentice him as a character. He was so romantic, funny, sensitive and just an overall caring loving guy that really pulled at my heart string.

Overall a really great love story that is not easy to put down, but why would you want to! Also a really good strong series that I just enjoy more and more of. Can't wait for the next book!!
