A required reading I actually loved

This book was a required text for a media studies class I took as part of my major, but I honestly really liked the book and was happy to read it. Miller explains things very clearly in my opinion, and gives good examples to demonstrate his points or arguments. If you're interested in how culture has changed in the digital age, both economically and socially, this is an interesting read.

How the internet and society are changing each other

If you are looking for a scholarly book about how people have been using the internet and social networking sites over the past 20 years, this book is ideal. Vincent Miller seems very well grounded in whatever social sciences happened before the internet and postmodernism. He reviews things like New Social Movements through the lens of the transition in Western Advance Capitalist Democracies from class based politics to identity politics. He correctly notes that the web hasn't so much radically transformed society, just made it much easier for people to explore, investigate and share their interests more than the 'net being a tool for complete social transformation. So Miller not only accurately describes the world of broad internet access but asks important questions about how it is shaping up, how politics are affected and how our society and how real life social relations are changing and being changed by internet communication technology. A most enlightening book.

Gluck is a Professor of Neuroscience at Rutgers University–Newark, co-director of the Memory Disorders Project at Rutgers–Newark, and publisher of the project’s public health newsletter, Memory Loss and the Brain.� His research focuses on the neural bases of learning and memory, and the consequences of memory loss due to aging, trauma, and disease.� He is co-author of Gateway to Memory: An Introduction to Neural Network Modeling of the Hippocampus and Learning (MIT Press, 2001).� In 1996, he was awarded an NSF Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers by President Bill Clinton. That same year, he received the American Psychological Association (APA) Distinguish Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology.�Eduardo Mercado is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at University at Buffalo, The State University of New York.� His research focuses on how different brain systems interact to develop representations of experienced events, and how these representations change over time.� Dr. Mercado currently uses techniques from experimental psychology, computational neuroscience, electrical engineering, and behavioral neuroscience to explore questions about auditory learning and memory in rodents, cetaceans, and humans.Catherine E. Delightful Read

My Name is Brett was such a touching, and accessible memoir. As I reader I felt as if I was going through all of his trials and triumphs with him. Touching on faith, and finding a place in the world for himself, as himself. I recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with finding self love, Brett Ray, shows in this lovely memoir that to fall in love with yourself is the greatest kind of love story.

I actually received this book from a friend who interviewed Brett and he signed it for me. Brett is an incredibly humble man; I was a little afraid of reading this book as I am not a Christian, however this book was about a man of humble beginnings. This is the story of not only Brett, but also his family and how they handled his transition. Truly inspirational. I finished this book in two hours and immediately ordered and shipped this to a close friend after deciding I wanted to keep my copy.

It's just a poorly-written term paper

This book is easy to read, I'll give it that. But it is very poorly organized. It's like someone just sat down and started rambling about ERP without really outlining the book. Sections are repeated throughout the book. Major point are difficult to extract. If I had written this, I'm sure I would have gotten a C. At least that's what I'd give it. It just needs to be re-organized.
